SSL certificates automatically protect all domains correctly pointing to your Squarespace site. Here's how to troubleshoot SSL certificate errors and security warnings.

- Wait before taking any troubleshooting actions
- Only applies to domains pointing to Squarespace sites

- "Your connection is not secure"
- "SSL Certificates Not Available"
Troubleshooting Steps:
- Wait 72 hours for new domains
- Verify site is set to Secure in SSL panel
- Check for mixed content
- Confirm correct domain connection
For Squarespace Domains:
- Verify default records are intact
- Check domain mapping settings
For Third-party Domains:
- Verify DNS records are entered correctly
- Check for CAA registration restrictions
- Contact provider about SSL compatibility
Additional Solutions:
- Use supported browsers (check Let's Encrypt's trusted platforms list)
- Clear browser cache
- Test in private browsing window
- Consider transferring domain to Squarespace if persistent issues occur
After Resolution:
- Request Google Search Console to index secure site version
- Clear browser cache if warnings persist
- Verify SSL certificate functionality in private browsing
Note: DNSSEC protection is automatically added to Squarespace domains. Third-party DNSSEC protection may not always work with Squarespace SSL setup.
