Squarespace Template Versions: How to Check Your Site's Version and Family
Check your site's version and template by opening the Pages panel and scrolling to the bottom. For version 7.0 sites, you'll see your template name displayed alongside the version number.
Version 7.1 Templates
- All templates share the same features and style options
- Template name won't display in Pages panel, only "version 7.1" label
- Uses two editing systems:
- Dynamic Editor for most block sections and footer
- Classic Editor for blogs, events, and product details
- Cannot change templates, but extensive customization is possible
Version 7.0 Templates
- Organized into 10 different template families
- Each family shares structure, style options, and features
- Example: Bedford family includes Anya, Bryant, Bedford, and Hayden templates
- Can upgrade to version 7.1 using the upgrade tool
- Cannot downgrade from 7.1 to 7.0
Template Selection Tips
- For version 7.1: Browse template store or use Squarespace Design Kit with AI
- For version 7.0: Visit version 7.0 template store during trial period

Important Notes
- Version 7.1 templates cannot be converted to version 7.0
- Squarespace 5 users will not see a left panel when logging in
