How to Publish Your Blog on Apple News with Squarespace
Apple News is a mobile app that displays articles from blogs, news sites, and magazines on iPad and iPhone. Squarespace users can publish their blog content directly to Apple News, reaching a wider audience alongside major publications.
Prerequisites:
- iOS 9 or later
- Available in US, Australia, and UK
- iCloud account
- Apple News account
Setup Process:

Create an iCloud Account Create a free account at www.icloud.com if you don't have one.

Link Apple News with Squarespace
- Log in to Apple News Publisher
- Click "Link CMS" then "API Key"
- Copy the three provided codes
- In Squarespace, go to Pages > Blog > Feeds
- Click "Connect account" in Apple News section
- Paste the three codes and save
- Preview Posts (Optional)
- Open Apple News Publisher
- Go to Articles and Drafts
- Click "Preview your articles"
- Open preview link on iOS device
- Submit for Approval
- Go to Articles > Drafts
- Click "Submit for approval"
- Wait for Apple's email confirmation
- Publish Content
- After approval, go to Articles
- Click "Publish all" in Drafts tab
- New blog posts will automatically publish to Apple News
Content Display Features:
- Featured images appear as banners
- Post titles, authors, and dates overlay banner images
- Parallax scrolling on text over images
- "Discover on web" link at bottom of posts
Supported Content Types:
- Text blocks
- Images
- Videos (YouTube/Vimeo URLs only)
- Audio
- Line blocks
- Quotes
- Galleries
- Markdown
- Select embeds (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)
Managing Your Channel:
- Update channel name in Publisher settings
- Customize featured image
- Connect multiple blogs to one channel
- Create multiple channels with single iCloud account
To disconnect:
- Access Squarespace Pages panel
- Select blog settings
- Go to Feeds tab
- Click "Disconnect" in Apple News section
Note: Content updates in Squarespace will sync to Apple News, though there may be a delay. Some formatting limitations apply, including fonts, colors, and nested lists.
