Getting started with Apple News requires an iCloud account and iOS 9 or later (available in U.S., Australia, and UK). Here's how to integrate your Squarespace blog:

Set Up and Connect

1. Create an iCloud account at www.icloud.com if you don't have one
2. Visit Apple News Publisher and log in
3. Click [Connect CMS] then [API Key]
4. Save the three codes provided (especially the secret code)
5. In Squarespace, go to Pages > Blog Settings > Feed
6. Click [Connect Account] in Apple News section
7. Enter the three API codes and save

Publishing Process

1. Preview posts in Apple News Publisher (optional)
2. Submit initial content for Apple approval
3. Once approved, click [Publish All] in Apple News Publisher
4. New blog posts will automatically sync to Apple News
5. Update older posts by accessing Blog Post Settings and clicking Save

Add Your Channel to Apple News

1. Open News app on iOS device
2. Search for your blog name
3. Tap the [+] icon to add to favorites

Supported Content Types:

• Text blocks
• Images
• Videos (YouTube/Vimeo URLs only)
• Audio
• Dividers
• Quotes
• Galleries
• Markdown
• Selected embeds (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram)

Important Notes:

• Some formatting limitations exist (fonts, colors, nested lists)
• Featured images become tiles on channel homepage
• Posts include title, author, and publication date
• [Read on Web] link appears under each post
• Multiple blogs can connect to one Apple News channel
• Disconnecting removes all posts from the channel

Troubleshooting:

• Allow time for posts to appear in the channel
• Contact Apple News if posts don't appear within hours
• Updates to posts will sync automatically but may take time
• Draft posts in Squarespace, not Apple News Publisher

Channel Management:

• Update channel name in Apple News Publisher
• Set featured images in the Cover tab
• Choose static or dynamic cover images
• Connect multiple blogs using the same API codes
• Create additional channels through Apple News Publisher

To disconnect, go to Squarespace Pages > Blog Settings > Feed and click [Disconnect] in the Apple News section.
