How to Duplicate Your Squarespace Site: A Step-by-Step Guide
Access your site's Control Panel and click the "..." menu next to the site you want to duplicate. Select "Duplicate Site" to create a copy. The duplicated site appears first in your Account Panel with "(Copy)" added to the title.
What Gets Copied:
- Pages, sections, layouts, and blocks
- Collection items
- Site title and logo
- Site languages and regional settings
- Style settings and template
- Text content
- Code injection settings
What Doesn't Transfer:
- Domain subscriptions
- Email campaigns
- Audio files
- Blog comments
- Stock images
- Sales data and settings
- Third-party integrations
- Analytics and billing info
- Contributor permissions
Important Notes:
- Sites with over 100 pages cannot be duplicated
- Developer Platform sites, Parking Pages, and suspended sites are ineligible
- The duplicate starts as a free trial site
- Changes to copied site don't sync with original
- Member Sites features are disabled in the duplicate
For Member Sites:
- Member pages move to "unlinked" section in duplicate
- Subscribe to appropriate plan to restore Member Sites
- Manually move pages from unlinked to Member Sites section
The duplication process time varies based on site content volume. URL slugs for collection items will have additional characters - update manually if needed.
Basic authors transfer but must be manually reassigned to collection items in the duplicate site.
