How to Duplicate a Squarespace Site: Step-by-Step Guide
Creating a copy of a Squarespace site is simple, but there are important details to consider before proceeding.
Key Limitations:
- Cannot duplicate sites with over 100 pages
- Developer Platform sites cannot be duplicated
- Parked pages are not eligible
- Cover Page plan sites cannot be duplicated
- Acuity Scheduling pages won't transfer
Important Notes:
- Duplicating doesn't affect the original site
- Changes to the copy won't sync with the original
- The copied site starts as a free trial
How to Duplicate a Site:
- Navigate to your account Dashboard
- Click the "..." menu next to the site you want to copy
- Select "Duplicate website"
- Wait for the process to complete (time varies based on content volume)
What Gets Copied:
- Pages, sections, layouts, and blocks
- Code injection settings
- Collection items
- Site title and logo
- Language and regional settings
- Style settings
- Template
- Text content
- Base authors in Permissions panel
What Doesn't Transfer:
- Subscriptions and additional features
- Audio files from audio blocks
- Blog comments
- Demo content or deleted items
- Uploaded files from link editor
- Stock images (free or premium)
- Unused Resource Library content
- Saved sections
- Sales settings
- Third-party integrations
- Site-specific settings (analytics, billing, contacts)
- Collaborator permissions
Member Sites:
- Member Sites features will be inactive in the copy
- Member pages move to the Unlinked section
- To restore: Subscribe to an eligible plan and manually rebuild Member Sites
