Customer Reviews: How to Enable and Manage Product Feedback
Streamlined presentation of customer reviews functionality, helping businesses build trust and increase sales through authentic product feedback.
When enabled, the system automatically emails customers 14 days after product shipment, requesting reviews for:
- Tangible products
- Downloadable products
- Service products
- Subscription products (one-time request)
Key Features:
- 1500 character limit per review
- 1-5 star rating system
- 120-day review window after purchase
- Multiple products can be reviewed from single order
- Reviews remain if variations are deleted (parent product must exist)

Email Customization Steps:
- Access Automatic Email Dashboard
- Select "Request Customer Reviews"
- Click "Action" then "Edit Email"
- Modify content or add new elements
- Customize subject line and preview text
- Test email using "Send Test" function
Review Display Options:
- Product Reviews Only: Shows specific product reviews
- Store Reviews Only: Displays all store reviews with product images
- Product and Store Reviews: Separated into tabs

Management Features:
- Control publication status (Public/Hidden)
- View posting dates, ratings, and customer information
- Monitor reviews through Customer Reviews panel
- Email notification options for new reviews
- Display settings for requested and imported reviews
Important Limitations:
- Cannot send reviews for orders older than 14 days
- Reviews cannot be exported or migrated between sites
- Customers cannot edit or delete their reviews
- No direct reply function to reviews
- Point-of-sale purchases don't receive review requests
- Gift card reviews not available
Review System Persistence:
- Reviews remain visible after product edits
- Hidden reviews can be restored
- Reviews stay if products move between store pages
- Deleting contacts removes associated reviews
- Reviews maintain average ratings even after product deletion
The review system automatically pauses when emails are edited or manually disabled through the Automatic Email Dashboard.
