Abandoned Cart Recovery: Double Your Sales with Automated Email Reminders
Abandoned payment recovery emails help reclaim lost sales by automatically reaching out to customers who leave items in their cart without completing the purchase. This proven strategy doubles the chances of completing the payment.
How It Works
The system automatically sends a customizable email 24 hours after cart abandonment, including:
- Personalized subject line and message
- Branded header and footer
- "Complete your order" button linking to cart
- Option for customers to unsubscribe
Eligibility Requirements
For logged-in customers:
- Must have at least one in-stock product in cart
For guest customers:
- Must enter email address on payment page
- Must abandon cart with in-stock items
- Must not return to complete purchase within 24 hours
Note: Abandoned payment recovery does not apply to subscription products or abandoned subscription checkouts.
Setup Instructions

Enable the feature:
- Navigate to Payment panel
- Toggle on "Abandoned Payment Recovery"

Customize email content:
- Access Customer Notifications panel
- Modify email elements as needed
- Send test email to preview

Track performance:
- Monitor abandonment trends
- Review recovery rates
- Analyze customer journey data
Managing the Feature
To restore default settings:
- Scroll to bottom of panel
- Click "Restore Default Settings"
- Note: This action cannot be undone
To disable the feature:
- Open Payment panel
- Toggle off "Abandoned Payment Recovery"
For customer privacy, no additional information (like name or payment details) is stored. Customers must re-enter their information when returning to complete their purchase.
