Verify Your Website with Google Search Console to Improve Search Rankings
Google Search Console allows you to manage your site's presence in Google search results and track how visitors find your website through search keywords. Here's how to verify and optimize your site:
Prerequisites:
- Remove any site or page passwords from your homepage
- Ensure your domain is properly connected (wait 72 hours after connection)
- Have an active, published site (trial sites cannot be verified)
- Create a Google account if you don't have one
Connect Google Search Console:
- Go to Analytics in the Main Menu
- Click Search Keywords
- Click Connect in the pop-up window
- Log in to your Google account
- Review and accept permissions
- Wait 72 hours for data to appear
Index Your Site:

Submit Your Sitemap:
- Access Google Search Console dashboard
- Select your site from properties menu
- Click Sitemaps
- Enter your sitemap URL
- Click Submit

Index Specific Pages:
- Use URL Inspection tool
- Enter the full URL of unindexed pages
- Click Request indexing
- Repeat for each page
View Keywords:
- Check the Google tab in Search Keywords panel
- Access detailed analytics at search.google.com/search-console/
- Allow up to 72 hours for keyword data to appear
Important Notes:
- Custom domains must be active and properly connected
- Reconnect if you change your main domain name
- The "robots.txt" warning is normal
- Fix "Connected account disabled" error by reconnecting your account
Search indexing may take time, and Google's algorithm determines when and how your site appears in search results.
