Google Search Console setup and indexing involves several important steps to ensure your site appears in search results effectively.

Connect Your Site to Google Search Console:

  • Go to Analytics in Home Menu
  • Click Keyword Search
  • Click Connect and sign in to your Google account
  • Grant required permissions
  • Wait 72 hours for data generation

Prerequisites:

  • Remove any site passwords from homepage
  • Ensure domain is properly connected
  • Site must be published (not in testing)
  • Have a Google account ready

Index Your Site Using Two Methods:

  1. Submit Sitemap (Full Site Indexing):
  • Access Google Search Console dashboard
  • Click Sitemaps
  • Enter your sitemap URL
  • Submit for indexing
  1. URL Inspection Tool (Individual Pages):
  • Open URL Inspection tool
  • Enter specific page URL
  • Click Request indexing
  • Repeat for other pages

View Keywords Analytics:

  • Check Keyword Search panel after 72 hours
  • Access detailed data at search.google.com/search-console/

Important Notes:

  • Custom domains must be active and properly connected
  • Both http:// and https:// versions will be verified
  • Robots.txt warnings are normal
  • Indexing may take time to process
  • Reconnect if you change primary domain

Troubleshooting:

  • For connection errors, try reconnecting through Connected Accounts panel
  • If keyword data doesn't appear, wait 72 hours
  • Ensure your homepage isn't password protected
  • Check domain connection if verification fails

This setup ensures Google can find and index your site properly, improving your visibility in search results.
