Send customers to a secure checkout page on your own domain - a streamlined experience that builds trust and maintains your brand's consistency throughout the purchase process.

Secure domain checkout shows a URL like:

https://yourdomain.com/checkout

Rather than directing to Squarespace's default checkout at secure.squarespace.com, your entire shopping flow stays on your domain.

Automatic Eligibility Requirements:

  • Custom domain or subdomain (including Squarespace domains, transferred domains, third-party domains, and subdomains)
  • Active SSL certificate set to "Secure" preference

Without Custom Domain: Checkout appears as:

https://youraccountid.squarespace.com/checkout

Check Your Status:

  1. Go to Checkout settings
  2. Open Payment Area panel
  3. Look for your domain under "Checkout on your domain"

Troubleshooting Guide:

If checkout shows integrated domain instead of custom domain:

  • Test in incognito mode for accurate preview
  • Verify settings in Payment Area panel
  • Ensure SSL is set to "Secure" in Development Tools

If customers see 404 after checkout:

  • Check if site is set to Private
  • Set site to Public to prevent error page
  • Note: Orders still process correctly despite 404

SSL Security Setup:

  1. Access Development Tools
  2. Select SSL
  3. Set Security Preference to "Secure"

Your domain checkout creates a professional, branded experience that keeps customers on your site throughout the entire purchase process.
