Follow these steps to transfer your GoDaddy domain to Squarespace:

1. Log into GoDaddy Domain Control Center and select your domain.

2. Verify Domain Contact Information

• Go to Domain Settings
• Check Administrative email address is correct
• Update if needed and save changes

3. Unlock Your Domain

• Find Domain lock status in Additional Settings
• Toggle Domain lock off
• Confirm the unlock request

4. Get Authorization Code

• Click "Transfer domain away from GoDaddy"
• Select "Click here to see Authorization Code"
• Copy and save the code

5. Start Squarespace Transfer

• Open Domains panel in Squarespace
• Click "Use a domain I own"
• Enter domain name
• Click "Transfer domain"
• Paste authorization code

6. Complete Registration Details

• Verify contact information
• Update WHOIS records if needed
• Save changes

7. Enter Payment Information

• Review or enter credit card details
• Confirm payment method

8. Review and Confirm Order

• Check transfer details
• Verify one-year registration charge
• Review terms and expiration date
• Complete purchase

9. Monitor Transfer Status

• Check "Transfer in progress" message
• Fix any error messages (domain lock, authorization code)

10. Review DNS Settings (Optional)

• Check existing records
• Keep MX records if using custom email
• Add or remove records as needed

11. Wait for Completion

• Transfer takes up to 15 days
• Watch for confirmation email from Squarespace
• Domain will show green label when complete

Important Notes:

• Don't change DNS settings during transfer
• Wait to add Google Workspace until transfer completes
• Contact GoDaddy if transfer pending after 15 days
• Keep authorization code safe
• Ensure domain is unlocked before starting

After Transfer:

• Set as primary domain if desired
• Configure SSL settings
• Add custom email through Google Workspace
• Manage all domain settings through Squarespace
