Before adding Swiftype search to your site, ensure your Squarespace site is public. You can only add one Swiftype search field per page.

Create a Swiftype Search Engine:

  1. Log into Swiftype and click "Create A New Engine"
  2. Enter your website URL and verify it
  3. Wait for Swiftype to crawl your site
  4. Name your search engine and click "Create engine"
  5. Click "Complete Setup"
  6. Select "Install Search"
  7. Customize your search field
  8. Click "Activate Site Search"
  9. Copy both the install code and search field code

Add Swiftype to Squarespace:

Step 1: Add Install Code

  1. Go to Squarespace's Code Injection panel
  2. Paste the install code in the Header field
  3. Save changes

Step 2: Add Search Field

  1. Select an insert point on your page
  2. Add a Code block
  3. Paste the search field code

Important Notes:

  • Only one search field works per page
