Swiftype lets you add powerful search functionality to your Squarespace website through a simple two-step process.

Prerequisites:

• Your Squarespace website must be public
• Only one Swiftype search field can be added per page

Step 1: Get Swiftype Install Code

1. Log in to Swiftype and click "Create A New Engine"
2. Enter your website URL and verify it
3. Wait for Swiftype to crawl your website
4. Name your search engine and click "Create engine"
5. Click "Complete Setup"
6. Select "Install Search"
7. Customize your search field
8. Click "Activate Site Search"
9. Copy both the installation code and search field code

Step 2: Add Code to Squarespace

1. Add Installation Code:

   • Open Squarespace "Code Injection" menu
   • Paste installation code in Header field
   • Save changes

2. Add Search Field:

   • Choose where you want the search to appear
   • Add a Code Block at that location
   • Paste the search field code
   • Save changes

Important Notes:

• Code customizations are not officially supported by Squarespace
• Functionality may be affected by platform updates
• Search field may display differently on mobile devices
• Template compatibility varies
