Squarespace domains can only be renamed within five days of registration. After this period, the domain name becomes permanent. Here's how to rename your domain:

Within Five Days of Registration:

1. Cancel your current domain:

   • Visit Domains dashboard
   • Select the domain
   • Click "Delete Domain"
   • You'll receive a refund

2. Register a new domain:

   • Return to Domains dashboard
   • Choose and register your new domain name

Important Notes:

• The five-day period is exact to the minute (e.g., if registered at 8:00 AM on January 1, cancellation deadline is January 6 at 7:59 AM)
• Primary domains must be replaced before deletion
• Country code domains (like .co.uk or .de) have no reflection period or refund option
• Domains purchased through resellers must be cancelled through the reseller's account

After Five Days:

If the five-day period has passed, you cannot rename the domain. Instead:

• Set up a new primary domain
• Follow domain change maintenance procedures
• Manage your online presence accordingly
