How to Remove www from Your Domain Name
A naked domain is a website address that doesn't include "www" at the beginning. Here's how to remove the "www" prefix from your domain:
For Squarespace-Managed Domains:
- Navigate to the Domains panel
- Locate the "Use www prefix" option
- Turn off this setting
For Third-Party Domains:
- Access the Domains panel
- Find and disable the "Use www prefix" option
Important Notes:
- Changes can take 24-72 hours to process fully
- Once complete, your domain will appear without "www" in the address bar
- Both versions of your domain (with and without "www") will still work
- Visitors typing either version will be directed to your preferred format
Technical Note: Your domain will continue functioning normally during the transition period. The change only affects how your URL appears in browsers and search results.
