
How to Make a Site Duplicate in Squarespace: Complete Guide
Duplicating Squarespace websites allows you to create a new site with the same structure as an existing one. This guide explains what gets copied and what doesn't during site duplication.
Limitations
- Cannot duplicate sites with over 100 pages
- Developer Platform sites cannot be duplicated
- Parking pages are not eligible
- Cover Page plan sites cannot be duplicated
- Acuity Scheduling booking pages won't transfer
Important Notes
- Original site remains unchanged
- Changes to the copy don't affect the original
- Duplicated site starts as a free trial
- New site needs separate paid subscription
How to Duplicate a Site
- Access Account Dashboard
- Locate the site to duplicate
- Click ... menu
- Select "Duplicate website"
- Wait for the process to complete (time varies by site size)

- Pages, sections, and blocks
- Code injections
- Collection items
- Site title and logo
- Language and region settings
- Style settings
- Template
- Text content
- Basic authors (permissions only)
What Doesn't Transfer
- Subscriptions and additional features
- Audio files

- Collaborator permissions
Member Sites Handling
- Member Sites feature is disabled in the duplicate
- Member pages move to unlinked section
- To restore member sites:
- Subscribe to eligible plan
- Enable Member Sites
- Move pages from unlinked to Member Sites section
URL Management
- Collection item URLs get additional characters
- Update URL slugs manually if needed
- For address changes without duplication, simply add and set a new primary domain
