
How to Create and Track Custom URLs for Ad Campaigns
Building trackable links lets you monitor visitor clicks and measure ad campaign success directly in your analytics.
The URL Builder tool helps create unique, trackable URLs that show you:
- Click-through rates from specific ads
- Revenue generated from each campaign
- Individual campaign performance metrics
Access the URL Builder through:
- Marketing panel > URL Builder
- Traffic sources panel > URL Builder option
Supported Advertising Platforms:
- Facebook Ads
- Instagram Ads
- Google Ads
- Twitter Ads
- Pinterest Ads
- YouTube Ads
- LinkedIn Ads
Note: Squarespace Email Campaigns and Instagram Shopping campaigns are automatically tracked without needing special links.
Supported Link Destinations:
- Layout pages
- Collection pages (blogs, stores)
- Tag and category pages within collections
Limitations:
- Can't link to individual collection items (use tags instead)
- Can't link to pages within an index (link to main index only)
Creating a Trackable Link:
- Go to Marketing > URL Builder
- Click Create URL
- Select destination page from drop-down menu
- Choose your ad platform
- Click Next
- Add the URL to your ad campaign
Track performance by visiting the Traffic sources panel to view click data and campaign metrics.
For best results, create separate tracking URLs for each campaign to accurately measure individual performance and ROI.
