
How to Create and Track Campaign Links using URL Builder
Traceable links help track visitor clicks and campaign performance. They provide essential data about campaign traffic and revenue generation, viewable in the Traffic Sources panel.
To create a traceable link:
- Navigate to Marketing > URL Builder
- Click "Create a URL"
- Select destination page from dropdown
- Choose advertising platform
- Follow platform-specific instructions to complete setup
Supported Advertisement Platforms:
- Facebook Ads
- Instagram Ads
- Google Ads
- Twitter Ads
- Pinterest Ads
- YouTube Ads
- LinkedIn Ads
Note: Squarespace automatically tracks email campaigns and Instagram Shopping without requiring special links.
Compatible Destinations:
- Layout pages
- Collection pages (Blog, Store)
- Tags and categories within collections
Limitations:
- Cannot create direct links to individual collection items
- Index page subpages aren't directly linkable
- For products/blog posts, use tags to create filtered collection views
To track performance: Monitor link performance in the Traffic Sources panel, which displays click data and campaign metrics for each unique URL.
Best Practices:
- Create separate links for different campaigns
- Use descriptive names for easy identification
- Regularly monitor performance metrics
- Compare campaign effectiveness using individual tracking data
