Start your connection in Squarespace by going to the Domains panel, clicking "Use a domain I own," and entering your domain name. Choose name.com from the dropdown menu and click Connect domain.

Next, log into your Name.com account and navigate to your domain's DNS settings:

1. Visit www.name.com and log in
2. Go to My Domains
3. Select your domain
4. Click "Manage DNS records"

Add the Squarespace DNS template:

1. Click "Show DNS templates"
2. Select "Squarespace.com" from Predefined DNS Templates
3. Add the verification key from Squarespace to Name.com
4. Click "Update DNS record"

Verify these DNS records are present:

• Unique verification code → CNAME → verify.squarespace.com
• www → CNAME → ext-cust.squarespace.com
• @ → A → 198.185.159.144
• @ → A → 198.185.159.145
• @ → A → 198.49.23.144
• @ → A → 198.49.23.145

Wait 24-72 hours for the connection to complete. You can monitor progress in Squarespace's DNS settings panel - green checkmarks will appear as the connection establishes.

If you see "Unable to verify domain ownership" after 72 hours, use the DNS record verification tool in Settings to troubleshoot. For additional help, contact Name.com support or consult their documentation.

The domain is fully connected when it shows "Connected" in your Squarespace Domains panel.
