Connect your Name.com domain to Squarespace using DNS Connect in 6 simple steps:

Step 1: Start the Squarespace Connection

• Open the Domains panel
• Click "I already have a domain"
• Enter your domain name and click the arrow
• Click "Connect Domain"
• Select name.com from dropdown
• Click "Connect Domain" and "Continue"
• Keep the DNS records panel open for reference

Step 2: Access Name.com Account

• Visit www.name.com and log in
• Under "My Domains," select your domain
• Click "Manage DNS Records"

Step 3: Add Squarespace DNS Template

• Click "View DNS Templates"
• Select "Squarespace.com" from Predefined DNS Templates
• Records will load automatically

Step 4: Add Verification Key

• Copy the unique code from Squarespace DNS Settings
• Paste it into Name.com's Verification Key field
• Click "Update DNS Records"

Step 5: Verify DNS Records Your domain should have these six records:

• Unique verification code (CNAME) → verify.squarespace.com
• www (CNAME) → ext-cust.squarespace.com
• @ (A) → 198.185.159.144
• @ (A) → 198.185.159.145
• @ (A) → 198.49.23.144
• @ (A) → 198.49.23.145

Step 6: Wait for Connection

• Allow 24-72 hours for full connection
• Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS settings
• Click "Refresh Records" to check status
• Look for green labels indicating successful connection

Troubleshooting:

• Use DNS Checker tool if you see "Unable to verify domain ownership"
• Contact Name.com support for account-specific issues
• Check DNS records are exactly as specified above
• Wait full 72 hours before further troubleshooting
