Learn how to connect your Dotster domain to Squarespace using DNS Connect with these simple steps.

Before starting, ensure your domain meets Squarespace's third-party domain requirements.

Step 1 - Start the Squarespace Connection

1. Open the Domains panel
2. Click "Use a domain I own"
3. Enter your domain name and click the arrow
4. Click "Connect domain"
5. Select Dotster from the dropdown
6. Click "Connect domain" and "Continue"
7. Keep the DNS records panel open for reference

Step 2 - Access Dotster Settings

1. Log into www.dotster.com
2. Locate your domain and click "Manage"
3. Navigate to "DNS & Nameservers" > "DNS Records" tab

Step 3 - Add First CNAME Record

• Name: [unique code from Squarespace]
• Type: CNAME
• Content: verify.squarespace.com
• TTL: 1 hour
• Priority: Leave blank

Step 4 - Add Second CNAME Record

• Name: www
• Type: CNAME
• Content: ext-cust.squarespace.com
• TTL: 1 hour
• Priority: Leave blank

Step 5 - Add Four A Records Add these records with @ as Name, A as Type, and 1 hour TTL:

• 198.185.159.144
• 198.185.159.145
• 198.49.23.144
• 198.49.23.145

Step 6 - Wait for Connection

• Allow 24-72 hours for full propagation
• Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS Settings
• Green labels will appear as records connect
• Domain will show "Connected" when complete

Troubleshooting

• Use the DNS checker tool if you see "Can't verify domain ownership"
• Wait 72 hours before troubleshooting
• Contact Dotster support for account-specific issues

The connection is complete when all records show green labels and your domain displays "Connected" in the Domains panel.
