Automatic Connection Steps:

1. Open Squarespace Domains Panel:

• Click "Use a domain I own"
• Enter your full domain name
• Click "Connect domain"
• Select "1&1" from dropdown
• Click "Continue"

2. Approve IONOS Connection:

• Log in to your IONOS account in the pop-up window
• Click "Connect" to confirm
• Wait for confirmation message
• Click "Continue"

3. Wait for Connection (24-72 hours):

• Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS Settings
• Check "Current Data" column for green labels
• Domain will show "Connected" when complete

Troubleshooting:

If you receive IONOS error messages:

1. Verify default IONOS nameservers are active
2. Disconnect IONOS account
3. Try manual domain connection

Note: Temporary errors are normal during the first 72 hours. For persistent issues after this period, check domain connection troubleshooting guide or contact IONOS support.
