Comprehensive List of Removed Squarespace Fonts: What You Need to Know
When a font becomes withdrawn, it can no longer be used in new places on your website or on new websites. Here's how to handle withdrawn fonts and find suitable replacements.
Duplicating Sites with Withdrawn Fonts
If you receive an error when trying to duplicate a website due to unavailable fonts, you'll need to replace all withdrawn fonts before proceeding. There's no automatic way to identify withdrawn fonts - you'll need to manually check your current fonts against the list below.
Replacing Withdrawn Fonts in Version 7.1:
- Open Website Styles
- Click > next to Fonts
- Check font settings under Headings, Paragraphs, Buttons, and Miscellaneous
- Review Assign Styles for custom font usage
- Select new fonts for any withdrawn ones
Note: You can choose a new font package instead, but this will remove all font customizations.
Replacing Withdrawn Fonts in Version 7.0:
- Open Website Styles
- Locate style customizations with withdrawn fonts
- Select new fonts for each withdrawn font setting
Pro tip: Check Website Styles on different pages, as some customizations may only appear on specific pages.
Custom CSS Considerations
If you've used withdrawn fonts in custom CSS, remove them before attempting to duplicate your site.
