How to Connect a GoDaddy Domain to Squarespace: Step-by-Step Guide
Connect a GoDaddy domain to your Squarespace site using either nameserver or DNS connection. Here's how:
Before Starting:
- Verify your domain meets third-party domain requirements
- Remove all active DNS records from GoDaddy
- Keep default GoDaddy nameservers active
- For subdomains, follow separate subdomain connection instructions
Option 1: Nameserver Connection (Recommended) Note: Not available for .ca, .au, or .com.au domains
- In Squarespace:
- Open Domains panel
- Click "Use my domain"
- Enter your domain name
- Click "Connect Domain"
- Select "Get Started"
- In GoDaddy:
- Sign in when prompted
- Open DNS Management
- Under Nameservers, click "Change"
- Select "Enter my own nameservers"
- Add these nameservers:
- connect1.squarespacedns.com
- connect2.squarespacedns.com
- Save changes and confirm
Option 2: DNS Connection
- In Squarespace:
- Open Domains panel
- Click "Use my domain"
- Enter domain name
- Click "Connect Domain"
- Select "No, I'll use DNS records"
- Choose GoDaddy from dropdown
- Sign in to GoDaddy

- Click "Continue"
Waiting Period:
- Nameserver connection: Up to 24 hours
- DNS connection: Up to 72 hours
