How to Connect a Crazy Domains Domain to Squarespace: Complete Guide
Third-party domain connection requires adding specific DNS records in your Crazy Domains account. Follow these steps to connect your domain to Squarespace:
- Start Connection in Squarespace
- Open Domains panel
- Click "Use a domain I own"
- Enter your domain name
- Click "Connect domain"
- Select "Other" from dropdown
- Click "Continue"
- Keep the DNS records panel open for reference
- Access Crazy Domains Settings
- Log in to Crazy Domains account
- Go to Domains tab
- Select your domain
- Scroll to DNS Settings section
- Add First CNAME Record
- Type: CNAME
- Subdomain: [unique code from Squarespace]
- Points to: verify.squarespace.com
- Add Second CNAME Record
- Type: CNAME
- Subdomain: www
- Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com
- Add Four A Records Create records pointing to:
- 198.185.159.144
- 198.185.159.145
- 198.49.23.144
- 198.49.23.145
Leave Subdomain field blank for all A records.
Important Notes:
- Connection takes 24-72 hours to complete
- Don't delete existing Mail or Email records
- Monitor connection progress in Squarespace DNS settings
- Green tags indicate successful connection
- If errors persist after 72 hours, use DNS verification tool
Troubleshooting: If domain shows "Domain ownership could not be verified," check DNS records using the verification tool in Settings panel.
