DNS settings in Squarespace allow you to manage domain redirections and email services through predefined DNS records in the Domains dashboard. These records contain instructions for servers to properly direct visitors and handle email routing.

How to Access DNS Settings:

  1. Navigate to your Domains dashboard
  2. Select your domain name
  3. Click DNS in the sidebar

Adding Predefined DNS Records:

Click "Add a Predefined Setting" for these options:

  • Google Workspace: For non-Squarespace Google Workspace subscriptions
  • Zoho Mail: Adds required fields for Zoho Mail service
  • Google Workspace Verification: Resends verification for parked domains
  • Squarespace Default Settings: Restores original domain settings

Managing Squarespace Default Settings:

To Add Defaults:

  1. Open Domains dashboard
  2. Select your domain
  3. Click DNS in sidebar
  4. Choose "Add a Predefined Setting"
  5. Select "Squarespace Defaults"

To Remove Defaults:

  1. Access DNS settings
  2. Find DNS Settings section
  3. Click red trash can next to Squarespace Defaults
  4. Confirm removal

Troubleshooting DNS Conflicts:

If you see "DNS Record Conflict" error:

  • Check for duplicate records
  • Look for conflicting record types
  • Refresh page and retry
  • Ensure incompatible services aren't mixed (e.g., Google Workspace and Zoho Mail)

Additional Domain Management:

You can also:

  • Connect third-party domains
  • Manage Whois protection
  • Change nameservers
  • Set primary domains
  • Transfer domains
  • Create subdomains

For custom DNS records, use the Custom Records section in your DNS settings. Contact your specific provider for detailed record information when setting up third-party services.
