Embed Files & Documents: Guide to Adding PDFs, Excel & Drive Files

Display files like PDFs, Excel sheets, and Google Drive documents directly on your site using third-party embeds. Here's how:

PDF Files

  • Use Issuu to embed PDFs on your Squarespace site

Excel and PowerPoint Files

  1. Upload your file to Microsoft OneDrive
  2. Open Files page in OneDrive
  3. Right-click document (or Control + click on Mac)
  4. Select Embed
  5. Click Generate
  6. Copy the embed code

Google Drive Files

  1. Open your document
  2. Click File
  3. Select "Publish to the web"
  4. Click Publish
  5. Copy the code from Embed tab

Adding Embed Code to Your Site

  1. Open the page editor
  2. Click an insert point
  3. Add a code block
  4. Paste the embed code
  5. Click Save

Resizing Tips

  • For Google Slides: Adjust height and width numbers in the embed code
  • For documents and spreadsheets: Add height and width parameters after the URL
  • Example: style="height: 600px; width: 100%"
