
Add Disqus Comments to Your Squarespace Site: Setup Guide
Before integrating Disqus comments, ensure your site uses a consistent URL to maintain comment visibility across all visitors.
To set up Disqus on your site:
- Create a Disqus Shortname:
- Log into Disqus
- Click [Add Disqus to Site]
- Choose [I want to install Disqus on my site]
- Enter your website name
- Select a category
- Click [Create Site]
- Choose a subscription plan
- Select Squarespace platform
- Copy your Shortname
- Add Disqus to Squarespace:
- Open blog settings
- Paste Disqus Shortname
- Click [Save]
- Enable comments in [Comment Settings]
- Verify comments are enabled on individual posts

- Ensure you created a Website account (not User account)

- Previous Squarespace comments won't transfer to Disqus
- Comments only appear on the URL registered with Disqus
- Visitors must login via Disqus, Facebook, Twitter, or Google
- Different URLs (custom domain vs. Squarespace URL) won't share comments
