Urgent Security Report: Update Your Squarespace Payment Information
Update your payment details or billing method quickly to keep your Squarespace subscriptions active. Each site has independent billing, so update each separately.
Available Payment Methods:
- Credit/debit cards
- PayPal
- SEPA direct debit (Euro payments only)
How to Update Your Payment Method:
- Access Billing Settings:
- For websites: Open Payment Information panel
- For standalone domains: Go to Domains panel > Select domain > Billing
- Update Information:
- Enter new billing address
- Select payment method
- Fill in payment details
- For businesses: Enter company name in Cardholder Name field
- Click Save
Important Notes:
- All subscriptions auto-renew unless disabled
- Updates apply to next billing cycle
- Payments may include sales tax, VAT, or GST based on billing address
- EEA bank cardholders may need additional authorization
- Grouped domains share payment methods
Currency Limitations:
- PayPal unavailable for US residents using certain currencies (BRL, COP, IDR, MXN, MYR, NZD, ZAR)
- SEPA requires EUR currency and SEPA zone bank account
Troubleshooting:
- Expired site: System automatically processes payment after valid method added
- Domain expiry: Manually reactivate during grace period
- Suspended Google Workspace: Manual reactivation required
- Wrong card used: Contact support for assistance
- Payment issues: Check with bank or review decline reasons
Note: Cannot remove payment method without replacement. Contact support for payment method deletion.
For recurring billing issues, ensure:
- Card isn't expired
- Sufficient funds available
- Billing address matches bank records
- Payment method supports auto-charging
