Domain contact information is essential for managing your domain properly. Here's how to handle it effectively on Squarespace:

Contact Information Importance

Keep your domain contact details current, especially your email address, as it's used for:

• Important domain notifications
• Domain ownership verification
• Transfer requests to other providers

Contact Roles

Four main contact roles are available:

• Owner: Primary contact and official domain registrant
• Admin: Secondary contact receiving most domain emails
• Tech: Backup contact for critical domain emails
• Billing: Backup contact for critical emails and billing matters

Formatting Requirements

Email Address:

• Avoid using Apple email addresses (@mac.com, @me.com, @icloud.com)
• Don't use email addresses associated with the registered domain
• Remove any trailing spaces

Phone Number:

• Enter without dashes or country code
• Country code adds automatically based on selected country

Address:

• Use Address 1 for street number and name
• Use Address 2 for apartment/floor numbers (optional)
• Leave State field blank if outside US/Canada
• Ensure correct postal code format
• Select country matching phone number

Organization:

• Minimum 4 characters
• At least 3 must be letters
• Optional for personal registrations

Editing Contact Information

1. Access domain names dashboard
2. Select domain and click Edit in Registration details
3. Update information following formatting guidelines
4. Verify email address accuracy
5. Save changes

Verification Process

After changing Owner contact info:

• Verification emails sent to old and new addresses
• Must verify within 15 days to avoid suspension
• Can resend verification email if needed

Privacy Protection

• Whois privacy enabled by default
• Some country code domains (ccTLDs) don't allow privacy protection
• Can be disabled if needed
