Search engine data in Squarespace Analytics helps identify which keywords drive traffic to your site, enabling better content optimization for search visibility.

The Keyword panel provides two main sections: Google and Other Search Engines.

Google Search Data To access Google search data:

  • Verify your site with Google Search Console
  • Wait 72 hours for data population
  • View data from the past 16 months

Key metrics include:

  • Total Clicks: Number of clicks from search results
  • Total Impressions: Times your site appeared in searches
  • Click-through Rate (CTR): Percentage of impressions leading to clicks
  • Average Position: Your site's mean position in search results

The Google tab displays:

  • Trend chart showing top 4 keywords over time
  • Table with up to 200 keywords showing clicks, impressions, CTR, and position
  • Option to view results by page or domain

Other Search Engines This tab shows data from platforms like Bing and DuckDuckGo, including:

  • Search term frequency
  • Multiple search engine breakdown
  • "Not provided" data for secure searches
  • Searches under 80 characters

Optimization Tips

  1. Analyze areas with high impressions but low CTR
  2. Add relevant keywords to popular content
  3. Match product descriptions with common search terms
  4. Consider verifying with additional search engines

Note: For data discrepancies between Squarespace and Google Search Console, allow up to 72 hours for synchronization.

This tool helps align your content with user search behavior, improving visibility and connecting with potential visitors more effectively.
