Report Domain Ownership and Malware Issues
Managing domains registered through Google Workspace requires understanding specific processes for domain management and support. Here's what you need to know:
Domain Registration Overview
When setting up a new Google Workspace account, you can register a domain through Squarespace. These domains are managed jointly by Google Workspace and Squarespace, with billing handled through Google Workspace.
Identifying Resold Domains
To check if your domain is registered through a reseller:
- Open the Domain Dashboard
- Click on your domain
- Look for the reseller's name under the domain's expiration date
Domain Management Responsibilities
Google Workspace Controls:
- Billing and payment information
- Auto-renewal settings
- Domain cancellation
- Refund requests
Squarespace Controls:
- DNS records management
- Domain forwarding
- Contact information updates
- Nameserver settings
- WHOIS privacy
- Domain suspension issues
- Domain locking/unlocking
First-Time Squarespace Login
- Log out of any existing Squarespace accounts
- Visit squarespace.com/login
- Click "Continue with Google"
- Select your Google Workspace account
- Access the Domain Dashboard
Domain Authentication
- Look for email titled "[Action Required] Please Authenticate Your Squarespace Domain Contact"
- Complete authentication within 15 days to avoid domain suspension
- Authentication email sends to the contact address provided during registration
Important Notes
- You cannot move a resold domain to a Squarespace site due to separate billing requirements
- Domain transfer to Squarespace is not possible for Google Workspace registered domains
- Canceling Google Workspace doesn't automatically cancel the domain
- Domain billing continues through Google Workspace even if you cancel Google Workspace
Domain Connection
You can connect your resold domain to a Squarespace site while maintaining separate billing through Google Workspace.
