Billing and Renewal Process

• Payment occurs 15 days before official renewal date
• Email notifications sent 15 days before payment charge date
• Standard renewal rate is $20/year after first year
• Free domains registered before March 5, 2015, renew free with annual plans

Payment Failure and Expiration

• Domain remains active for 15 days after failed payment
• Three payment retry attempts over 15 days
• After expiration, grace periods apply:
  • Squarespace Domains LLC: 60 days to reactivate
  • Tucows domains: 30 days (45 days total from charge date)

Managing Automatic Renewal

• Can be disabled through Domains dashboard
• Must disable at least one day before renewal date
• Reactivation available through domain panel

• Purchase date: April 15, 2021
• Ownership verification deadline: April 30, 2021
• Transfer eligibility: June 15, 2021
• Renewal notice: March 16, 2022
• Charge date: March 31, 2022
• Expiration (if payment fails): April 15, 2022
• Reactivation deadline: June 14, 2022

Important Notes

• Domain billing is separate from website and other subscriptions
• Grouped domains share billing information
• Resold domains must manage billing through reseller
• Legacy domains may convert to paid status under specific conditions
• Previous pricing maintained for domains registered before rate changes

To maintain active domain status, ensure your payment information is current and automatic renewal is enabled unless you intend to let the domain expire.
