Collection Pages and Search Engines:

  • Passwords protect all items in collection pages (blogs, events, portfolio, store)
  • Protected pages won't be indexed by search engines
  • Existing pages may remain in search results temporarily
  • Items can still appear in summary blocks but require password for full access

Index Pages:

  • Main index can be password-protected
  • Sub-page visibility depends on index style

Troubleshooting Tips:

  • Disable password managers when editing passwords
  • Paste passwords as plain text
  • Check for site-wide passwords if access issues occur
  • Test passwords in private browser window

Best Practices:

  • Hide protected pages from navigation menus
  • Set passwords before adding content to new pages
  • Regular password updates enhance security
  • Monitor access patterns through analytics

Note: Page passwords aren't available for member sites. For additional security options, consider site-wide passwords or single sign-on (Enterprise plan only).
