About Demo Content

Demo content showcases features and layout possibilities in Squarespace templates. While it serves as inspiration, you must replace it with your own content before launching your site.

Note: Demo pages use noindex tags to prevent appearing in search results. These tags are removed once you begin editing.

Finding Demo Content

Demo pages are located in the Pages panel, marked with a "Demo" label. Page icons indicate the type (Layout Page, Blog Page, etc.).

Replacing Demo Content

For Version 7.1:

• Pages: Click page title → Edit
• Page sections: Click Edit → Edit demo blocks
• Layout pages: Hover over preview → Edit
• Collection pages: Click page title → Copy Page
• Banner images: Hover over page → Click Banner → Delete

For Version 7.0 and Squarespace App:

• Tap page with Demo label
• Tap Edit or pencil icon
• Begin editing content

Removing Demo Content

To delete demo pages:

1. Open Pages panel
2. Hover over page
3. Click trash icon
4. Create new pages using + icon

Restoring Demo Content

• Demo pages can be restored within 30 days of deletion
• Alternative method:
  1. Check page URL slugs
  2. Switch to new template
  3. Uninstall previous template
  4. Reinstall and revert

Important Notes:

• Replace all demo content before upgrading to paid subscription
• Demo content cannot be used on live sites (Terms of Service)
• Stock images are available through Getty Images and Unsplash integrations
• Editing any demo page automatically removes the "Demo" label
• For Version 7.0: Changing templates moves modified pages to Hidden Navigation
