When your site isn't displaying, follow these troubleshooting steps to get back online quickly:

  1. Check System Status

Visit status.squarespace.com to see if there are any system-wide issues. Subscribe to SMS or email updates to stay informed about service disruptions.

  1. Test Your Domain

Try accessing your site using the default .squarespace.com domain. If this works, the issue is likely with your custom domain.

For External Domains (GoDaddy, 1&1, Hover, etc.):

  • Verify DNS settings using domain connection guide
  • Check domain provider's status page
  • Allow up to 72 hours for recent domain connections

For Squarespace Domains:

  • Confirm Default website settings in DNS
  • Ensure domain is verified (required within 15 days)
  • Check if domain has expired
  1. Check Site Expiration

If you see "The website has expired," your site needs reactivation due to:

  • Failed automatic payment
  • Disabled automatic renewal
  1. Wrong Site Loading

If incorrect site appears:

  • Check domain connections
  • Verify site association
  • Access correct site through your account dashboard:
    • Click profile picture/initials in Main Menu
    • Locate desired site in grid view
    • Click site thumbnail to access
  1. Still Having Issues?

If problems persist after trying these steps, contact Squarespace support for assistance.
