Link a Squarespace domain to a site while keeping billing and permissions separate from your website. Here's how.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Domain must be parked and not attached to another site
  • Domain and website must be on the same Squarespace account
  • You need Administrator permissions for the website
  • You must be a domain manager for the domain

Connect Your Domain:

  1. Go to domains dashboard
  2. Click your domain
  3. Select "Website"
  4. Click "Connect existing website"
  5. Choose the site to connect
  6. Click "Next" then "Confirm"

Edit Domain Connection:

  1. Access domains dashboard
  2. Select your domain
  3. Click "Website"
  4. Choose "Change connection"
  5. Pick new site to connect
  6. Click "Next" then "Confirm"

Remove Domain Connection:

  1. Open domains dashboard
  2. Click your domain
  3. Select "Website"
  4. Click "Change connection"
  5. Choose "Park this domain"
  6. Click "Next" then "Confirm"

Important Notes:

  • Can't connect domain to specific pages (but can forward to them)
  • To reconnect after third-party service use, remove old records and add Squarespace defaults
  • Subdomains are handled like third-party domains using DNS records
  • If lacking access, request Administrator permissions or domain manager status

Alternative Options:

  • Consider moving the domain instead of connecting if you want shared billing and permissions
  • For subdomains, use DNS records to establish connection
