How to Connect a Squarespace Domain to Your Website: Step-by-Step Guide
To connect a Squarespace domain to a Squarespace website, your domain must be parked and both the domain and website must be in the same Squarespace account.
Requirements
- Domain must be parked (not linked to another website)
- Domain and website must be in the same Squarespace account
- You need admin rights to the website and domain manager access

- Click Website
- Click Connect Existing Website
- Select the target website
- Click Continue and Confirm
Edit Domain Connection
- Open domain dashboard
- Click your domain
- Click Website
- Click Change Connection
- Select new website
- Click Continue and Confirm
Disconnect Domain
- Open domain dashboard
- Click your domain
- Click Website
- Click Change Connection
- Click Park This Domain
- Click Continue and Confirm
Important Notes
- Billing and permission settings remain separate for connected domains
- You can't connect a domain to a specific page (but you can redirect it)
- To reconnect after using third-party services, remove all third-party entries and restore default Squarespace settings
- Subdomains are treated as third-party domains and require DNS records for connection
If you lack access:
- For website access: Request admin editor rights
- For domain access: Request domain manager permissions
For shared billing and permissions, consider transferring the domain instead of connecting it.
