To connect a DreamHost domain to Squarespace, follow these steps:

Start the Connection in Squarespace:

1. Go to Domains panel
2. Click "Use a Domain You Own"
3. Enter your domain name and click the arrow
4. Click "Connect Domain"
5. Select DreamHost from the dropdown
6. Click "Connect Domain" and "Continue"

Log in to DreamHost:

1. Access your DreamHost account
2. Click Domains > Manage Domains
3. Switch to DNS Only hosting
4. Ensure Security shows "Not Secure HTTPS"
5. Remove any existing SSL certificates

Add DNS Records:

First CNAME Record:

• Host: [unique code from Squarespace]
• Type: CNAME
• Points to: verify.squarespace.com

Second CNAME Record:

• Host: www
• Type: CNAME
• Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com

Four A Records:

• Host: @ (leave blank)
• Type: A
• Points to (add one record for each):
  • 198.185.159.144
  • 198.185.159.145
  • 198.49.23.144
  • 198.49.23.145

Important Notes:

• Connection takes 24-72 hours to complete
• Don't delete Mail or Email host records
• Monitor connection progress in Squarespace's DNS settings
• Use DNS verification tool if domain ownership can't be verified
• Contact DreamHost support for account-specific issues

Wait for the green tags to appear in your Squarespace DNS settings, indicating successful connection. Your domain will show as "Connected" in the Domains panel once complete.
