How to Connect a Namecheap Domain to Squarespace: Step-by-Step Guide
Connect your Namecheap domain to Squarespace using either Nameserver or DNS connection. This guide covers both methods, with Nameserver Connection being the recommended option unless you need custom DNS records.
Nameserver Connection Method (Recommended)

In Squarespace:
- Open Domains panel
- Click "Use my domain"
- Enter your domain name
- Click "Connect Domain"
- Select "Get Started"

In Namecheap:
- Log into your account
- Open domain dashboard
- Select "Nameservers" > "Custom DNS"
- Add these Squarespace nameservers:
- connect1.squarespacedns.com
- connect2.squarespacedns.com
- Save changes
DNS Connection Method

In Squarespace:
- Open Domains panel
- Click "Use my domain"
- Enter domain name
- Select "No, I'll use DNS records"
- Choose Namecheap from dropdown
- Sign in to Namecheap
- Click "Connect"

- Log into account

Important Notes:
- Connection takes 24-72 hours to complete
- Keep Namecheap's default nameservers during initial setup
- Green label appears in DNS Settings when connected
- Temporary errors are normal during the first 72 hours
Troubleshooting
If connection fails after 72 hours:
- Reset nameservers to Namecheap defaults
- Unlink domain from Squarespace
- Remove Squarespace nameservers
- Start connection process again

- Use DNS checker tool in DNS Settings
- Verify CNAME and A records
- Contact Namecheap support for account-specific issues
