Within 5 Days of Registration:

• Get a full refund by canceling immediately
• Access Domains Dashboard
• Click the domain name
• Select "Delete Domain" and confirm twice
• Refund processes in 3-10 business days

After 5 Days:

• Disable automatic renewal
• Domain expires at next billing date
• No refund available
• Keep domain access until expiration

Before Canceling:

1. Custom Email:

• Email services will stop working upon cancellation
• Back up important emails

2. Website Considerations:

• Set a new primary domain if keeping website
• Default returns to yourname.squarespace.com
• Consider transferring instead of canceling

3. Domain Disconnection:

• Remove DNS records to disconnect from website
• Takes 1-72 hours to complete
• Can reconnect later if needed

Special Cases:

• Country-specific domains (ccTLDs) have different rules
• Resold domains must be canceled through the reseller
• Free domains can be re-registered after cancellation
• Legacy domains will have new pricing if repurchased

After Cancellation:

• Website disconnection takes 1-72 hours
• Domain becomes available for registration in 1-3 days
• Full refund only available within 5-day grace period
• DNS changes may take up to 72 hours to propagate
