Adding background videos to your website improves visual appeal while maintaining functionality. Here's how to do it effectively:
Video Requirements:
- Maximum length: 60 seconds
- Optimal frame rate: 60 fps
- Resolution: 1080p
- Minimum bitrate: 3 Mbps
- Aspect ratio: 16:9 (horizontal/landscape)
Best Practices:
- Limit to 2 background videos per page
- Keep videos under 40 seconds
- Use centered subjects with space for cropping
- Avoid quick cuts and excessive motion
- Prevent flashing (less than 3 flashes per second)
- Add mobile fallback images
Adding a Background Video:
- Prepare Your Video:
- Upload to YouTube/Vimeo (ensure proper sharing settings)
- Or prepare a file meeting requirements for direct upload
- Add the Video: For Section Backgrounds:
- Open Pages panel
- Click Edit
- Select section's pencil icon
- Choose Background > Video
- Upload file or add URL
For Page Banners:
- Open Pages panel
- Click settings icon
- Select Media tab
- Paste video URL
