Connect an IONOS Domain to Squarespace Using DNS Connect

Before starting, ensure you have active accounts with both IONOS and Squarespace. This process takes 24-72 hours to complete.

Step 1: Connect in Squarespace

1. Go to the Domains panel
2. Click "I already have a domain"
3. Enter your domain name
4. Click "Connect Domain"
5. Select IONOS from the dropdown
6. Click "Connect Domain" again
7. Click "Continue" in the popup

Step 2: Approve in IONOS

1. Log in to IONOS in the popup window
2. Click "Connect" to confirm
3. Wait for success message in Squarespace
4. Click "Continue"

Step 3: Wait for Connection

• Allow 24-72 hours for full connection
• Monitor progress in DNS settings
• Check for green labels in Current Data column
• Connected status will show in Domains panel

Troubleshooting Tips:

• Ensure you're using default IONOS nameservers
• Log out of IONOS completely
• Try manual connection if automatic fails
• Contact IONOS support for nameserver configuration help

Connection Problems? If errors persist after 72 hours:

1. Verify IONOS nameserver settings
2. Check domain registration status
3. Ensure no conflicting DNS records
4. Contact IONOS support for assistance

The domain is properly connected when you see "Connected" status in your Squarespace Domains panel and all DNS records show green labels.
