Begin your domain transfer from Dotster to Squarespace by logging into your Dotster account. Verify your admin contact information is accurate, as this email will receive all transfer-related communications.

To prepare your domain for transfer:

1. Unlock your domain:

• Navigate to the Transfers tab in Dotster
• Disable Domain Lock
• Disable Domain Privacy
• Ensure domain is 60+ days old

2. Get authorization code:

• Click "Send authentication code via email"
• Check admin email for the code

3. Start transfer in Squarespace:

• Go to Domains panel
• Click "Use a domain I own"
• Enter domain name
• Click "Transfer domain"
• Enter authorization code

4. Complete transfer details:

• Verify registration information
• Update payment method
• Review and confirm order

During the transfer:

• Don't modify DNS settings
• Don't add Google Workspace email
• Transfer may take up to 15 days
• Monitor transfer status in Domains panel

After successful transfer:

• You'll receive confirmation email
• Domain appears with green label
• Can set as primary domain
• Enable SSL encryption
• Add custom email addresses
• Manage all settings in Squarespace

Common transfer issues:

• Domain still locked
• Incorrect authorization code
• Invalid registration information

• Consider linking domain instead of transferring
