Managing Your Homepage

After setting your homepage, you can:

  • Delete or rename the old homepage
  • Move the new homepage to top of navigation
  • Hide it from navigation menus by moving it to "Not Linked"
  • Customize its appearance and content

Troubleshooting Common Issues

404 Error Message If you see a "Not Found" message, check:

  • Homepage isn't disabled (should appear in black, not gray)
  • Template preview settings (Version 7.0)
  • Homepage deletion status

Missing "Set as Homepage" Button

  • Pages within an index cannot be homepages
  • Move the page outside the index first
  • Once set as homepage, it cannot be moved back to an index

Best Practices

  • Ensure your homepage is always active
  • Keep navigation logical and user-friendly
  • Test your homepage across different devices
  • Regularly update content to keep it fresh

Note that visitors can always return to your homepage by clicking your logo or site title in the navigation.

For Version 7.0 users: If using template previews, ensure proper homepage setup when switching templates to avoid display issues.
