To remove "www" from your domain:

A domain without "www" (like example.com) is called a naked domain. Here's how to configure it:

For Squarespace-managed domains:

  1. Open the Domains menu
  2. Locate the "Use 'www' prefix" switch
  3. Turn the switch off

For third-party domains (GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.):

  1. Open the Domains menu
  2. Turn off the "Use 'www' prefix" switch

Important Notes:

  • By default, Squarespace domains are linked to both www and naked versions
  • Changes can take 24-72 hours to fully process
  • Once complete, visitors will see the naked domain (without www) in their address bar

When someone types yourdomain.com or www.yourdomain.com, they'll be directed to your site's naked domain version after the changes take effect.

Remember that this only affects how your domain appears in the browser's address bar - your site remains accessible through both versions.
