Linking your Bluehost domain to Squarespace requires updating DNS records. Follow these steps for a successful connection.

Before Starting

• Verify your domain meets Squarespace's requirements
• Keep your Bluehost account credentials handy

Step 1: Connect from Squarespace

1. Go to Domains panel
2. Click "Use a Domain I Own"
3. Enter your domain name
4. Click "Link Domain"
5. Select Bluehost from dropdown
6. Click Continue
7. Keep the DNS records panel open for reference

Step 2: Access Bluehost DNS Settings

1. Log in to Bluehost
2. Navigate to Domains section
3. Find your domain
4. Click "Advanced Tools"
5. Select "Manage" next to Advanced DNS Records
6. Click Continue

Step 3: Add First CNAME Record

• Host: [unique verification code from Squarespace]
• Type: CNAME
• Points to: verify.squarespace.com

Step 4: Add Second CNAME Record

• Host: www
• Type: CNAME
• Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com

Step 5: Add Four A Records Create these records with @ as Host and Type as A:

• 198.185.159.144
• 198.185.159.145
• 198.49.23.144
• 198.49.23.145

Important Notes:

• Don't delete Mail/Email records
• Keep TTL settings at default
• Wait 24-72 hours for changes to take effect
• Monitor progress in Squarespace's DNS Settings panel
• Green tags indicate successful linking

• Use DNS checker tool if domain shows "Unable to confirm domain ownership"
• Contact Bluehost support for account-specific issues
• Verify all DNS records match exactly as provided
• Wait full 72 hours before troubleshooting
