
How to Link a Bluehost Domain to Squarespace: Complete Guide
Linking your Bluehost domain to Squarespace requires updating DNS records. Follow these steps for a successful connection.
Before Starting
- Verify your domain meets Squarespace's requirements
- Keep your Bluehost account credentials handy
Step 1: Connect from Squarespace
- Go to Domains panel
- Click "Use a Domain I Own"
- Enter your domain name
- Click "Link Domain"
- Select Bluehost from dropdown
- Click Continue
- Keep the DNS records panel open for reference
Step 2: Access Bluehost DNS Settings
- Log in to Bluehost
- Navigate to Domains section
- Find your domain
- Click "Advanced Tools"
- Select "Manage" next to Advanced DNS Records
- Click Continue
Step 3: Add First CNAME Record
- Host: [unique verification code from Squarespace]
- Type: CNAME
- Points to: verify.squarespace.com
Step 4: Add Second CNAME Record
- Host: www
- Type: CNAME
- Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com
Step 5: Add Four A Records Create these records with @ as Host and Type as A:

- 198.49.23.144
- 198.49.23.145
Important Notes:
- Don't delete Mail/Email records
- Keep TTL settings at default
- Wait 24-72 hours for changes to take effect
- Monitor progress in Squarespace's DNS Settings panel
- Green tags indicate successful linking
