How to Connect OVHcloud Domain to Squarespace Site: Step-by-Step Guide

Quickly connect your OVHcloud domain to Squarespace by following these steps:

Before Starting:

  • Review domain connection requirements
  • Consider transferring instead of connecting if eligible
  • Keep your Squarespace DNS Settings panel open for reference

Step 1: Start Connection in Squarespace

  1. Go to Domains panel
  2. Click "I already have a domain"
  3. Enter your domain name
  4. Click "Connect Domain"
  5. Select "Other" from dropdown
  6. Click "Continue" in the popup message

Step 2: Access OVH Settings

  1. Login to OVH website
  2. Click "Web Cloud" in header
  3. Select your domain from sidebar
  4. Click "DNS Zone" then "Add Entry"

Step 3: Add First CNAME Record

  1. Copy unique code from Squarespace DNS Settings
  2. Create new CNAME record in OVH
  3. Subdomain: www
  4. Target: verify.squarespace.com.
  5. Keep default TTL

Step 4: Add Second CNAME Record

  1. Create another CNAME record
  2. Subdomain: www
  3. Target: ext-cust.squarespace.com.
  4. Keep default TTL

Step 5: Add Four A Records Create records with these values:

  • Target: 198.185.159.144.
  • Target: 198.185.159.145.
  • Target: 198.49.23.144.
  • Target: 198.49.23.145.

Leave Subdomain blank and use default TTL for all records.

Important Record Management:

  • Delete @ records if they don't match this guide
  • Remove blank host records
  • Preserve Mail/Email records to maintain email service

Step 6: Wait for Connection

  • Allow 24-72 hours for full connection
  • Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS Settings
  • Green labels indicate successful connections
  • Use DNS checker tool if issues persist

Troubleshooting:

  • Initial errors are normal during the first 72 hours
  • Use DNS Records Checker for verification
  • Contact OVH support for account-specific issues

The connection is complete when your domain shows "Connected" status in the Domains panel.
