When connecting an OVHcloud domain to Squarespace, follow these steps to properly configure your DNS settings.

Before Starting

• Verify your domain meets third-party connection requirements
• Consider transferring instead of connecting if eligible
• Keep your domain registered with OVHcloud

Step-by-Step Connection Process

1. Configure Squarespace Settings:

• Open Domains panel
• Click "Use your own domain"
• Enter your domain name
• Select "Other" from provider menu
• Keep the DNS records panel open for reference

2. Add First CNAME Record in OVH:

• Log into OVH account
• Navigate to Web Cloud > Domains > DNS zone
• Create CNAME record with:
  • Host: Your verification code
  • Target: verify.squarespace.com (include trailing period)

3. Add Second CNAME Record:

• Create another CNAME record with:
  • Subdomain: www
  • Target: ext-cust.squarespace.com (include trailing period)

4. Add Four A Records: Create A records with these IP addresses:

• 198.185.159.144
• 198.185.159.145
• 198.49.23.144
• 198.49.23.145

Leave subdomain field blank for all A records.

Important Notes:

• Connection takes 24-72 hours to complete
• Keep existing mail records
• Monitor connection status in Squarespace's DNS Settings
• Green labels will appear when properly connected

Troubleshooting:

• Use DNS checker tool for verification
• Contact OVH support for account-specific issues
• Wait full 72 hours before concerning about error messages

Connection is complete when "Connected" appears in the Domains panel and all records show green labels in DNS Settings.
